Web Gateway is a system that provides secure access to the Internet. Allows a company to flexibly distribute access to Internet resources by restricting employee access to sites. Any website or file downloaded from the internet is pre-screened for maliciousness, as is the traffic sent through the system to the internet.

Instead of connecting directly to a website, the user accesses the SWG

It is then responsible for connecting the user to the desired website

URL filtering and website visibility functions are performed

Traffic (packets) is checked for malicious content
